Sonke Gender Justice Network is governed by a board of well-known civil society leaders. The board has a commitment to 25% youth representation and includes standing positions for the following sectors:

  • Women's advocacy organisations
  • People living with HIV and AIDS
  • Youth and children, and
  • Faith based organisations.

Highlights

Sonke has reviewed the South African government's progress towards meeting its international commitments regarding gender equality, especially with regard to involving men and boys, and has published two reports at the 2010 CSW in New York.
