Lyn Messner

Lyn Messner joined the International Women’s Health Coalition in July 2005 and has over 15 years experience in gender-sensitive programming, project planning and assessment, training design and facilitation, grant management, proposal development, and writing/editing. Lyn has developed, implemented, and managed effective organizational strategies for gender integration for organizations such as the Peace Corps, Save the Children, and USAID, as well as established organizational policy guidelines in girls’ education, trafficking in persons, and gender and development. Her field experience includes the provision of direct technical assistance to over 25 countries in program development, assessment, and training to improve impact of agriculture, environment, education, health, HIV/AIDS, small business development, and youth projects using a gender and development approach and gender analysis.  Lyn has authored and edited widely used program and training documents, field resources, newsletters, and status reports for domestic and international audiences. She has a Masters degree in Development Anthropology from The George Washington University and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho from 1985-1988.
