Rob is Joint Head of Allan Gray's Retail Division and has specific responsibility for client administration, finance and technology. He co-developed and has subsequently co-managed the new investment services start-up (Allan Gray Investor Services) alongside a substantial legacy unit trust business. He previously worked at McKinsey and Company in London as an Engagement Manager and Associate working on strategy, operations and marketing issues for leading companies in the UK and Europe. He started his career on the production side at Unilver in Durban. Rob has an MBA from INSEAD, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from UCT. He is married with four children.
