Operations & Organisational Development
The overall goal of the Operations and Organisational Development is to develop institutional and financial capability so that Sonke functions effectively and efficiently, with proper acknowledgements and appreciation of the contribution of all staff members.
The team raises funds for organisational expansion to more effectively achieve Sonke’s strategic objectives, and provides human resources and financial and organisational training to develop and strengthen staff.
The unit is responsible for the organisations finances, and has developed a strong financial system which has enabled Sonke to achieve a clean audit from the external auditors.
Sonke's human resources function is also housed within this Unit. The HR team are responsible for a growing staff component of almost 60 staff members, distributed across three offices.
The unit also manages the day-to-day functioning of Sonke's offices, and general administration.
Ops & OD also work to strengthen Sonke’s partners’ internal governance structures and institutional and financial capacity to ensure long-term organisational sustainability and staff development and administers various sub-grants to partner organisations.
