Catherine Ramaoka holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Pretoria; Honours degree in International Relations from the University of South Africa and a Masters of Arts in Globalisation and Development Studies from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Her work experience includes being a volunteer at Rechts en Wilzijn Asylum Centre in Broechem, Belgium. Before joining Sonke Gender Justice she worked for Church World Service Resettlement Support Centre Africa for the US Refugee Admission Programme processing refugee cases. She is interested in advocacy work, particularly focusing on human rights, socio-economic rights, refugee rights and community development. She joins our Refugee Health Rights team in Johannesburg as a trainer.
