This report presents findings on an impact evaluation conducted on the activities of the “One Man Campaign” (OMC) in the Limpopo, Eastern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal Provinces of South Africa. The One Man Can Campaign has been developed by Sonke Gender Justice Network and promotes the idea that each one of us can create a better, more equitable and more just world. In addition to taking action in our personal lives, the campaign encourages men to work together with other men and with women to take action in our communities – to build a movement, to demand justice, to claim our rights and to change the world.

Report of a meeting that brought together a range of organisations implementing HIV and AIDS programmes targeting men in South Africa to share experiences, resources and research, and to identify key priorities and conceptualise a national campaign targeting men’s wellbeing. A report from a workshop held in Cape Town, South Africa, 22-25 September, 2008 Prepared by Caroline Aasheim, Dale Buscher, Dean Peacock and Lynn Ngugi

This report explores and documents how children in these areas experience and perceive the role of the men in their lives. The research focussed particularly on the role men play in the children’s lives in relation to the issues they face such as the need for psycho-social support in the context of HIV/AIDS, vulnerability to violence and support for school-going.

This is the report from a meeting held in Cape Town, July 15th and 16th, 2008 by Sonke Gender Justice Network, Grassrootsoccer and the Family Violence Prevention Fund with support from the Ford Foundation.

This report describes in great detail the range of activities carried out by Sonke with Ford Foundation support during the period July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008. The report is divided into three sections: an introductory narrative section describing key project achievements, a logframe listing achievements against project commitments and a final section with appendices.
